Control System Technologies
CST seeks to tackle relevant applications of control systems theory that find implementation in the short term. Interested students should have a strong inclination to work on multidisciplinary problems that involve mathematical models of systems in a variety of science and engineering fields. The models are normally characterized by sets of differential or difference equations. The ability to work with the Matlab and Simulink simulation environments is strongly desired. Recent problems include:
- optimal heart defibrillator pulse synthesis
- modeling and control of a novel Stirling Engine
- control of infectious disease spread
- automation of a heat-shrinking process for cable harness
